You may have noticed that Nourish Snacks recently got a major facelift. That didn’t happen overnight. This process included months of careful planning and endless meetings to perfect the color and design. We really enjoyed the creative journey so we wanted to give you a behind the scenes peek into how we ended up with our fresh new look.
Facts Up Front – From day one, we believed in providing the nutrition “facts up front.” This allows you to make better decisions without having to labor over nutrition labels on the back of the package. Now, with a single glance, you know the amount of calories, fiber or protein in each bag, and that our snacks are made gluten-free and without GMOs.
Food as the Star- The new bags may be getting all the attention, but the food inside those bags has always been our main focus. Sure, snacks can be healthy but if they don’t taste great, what’s the point? Our ingredients are second to none, and to allow these super stars to really shine, we’ve put them in the spotlight: They’re displayed front and center with beautiful photography. Trust us, they taste as good as they look!
Fun Factor- What do Monkey Love, Berry’d Treasure, and Holy Habanero have in common? These great-tasting snacks have creative names that are sure to make you smile. We’re all about fun here at Nourish, whether it be in our snack names or in our company culture. We truly mean it when we say “Eat happy!” Tear open a bag and you’ll see what we mean.
Creating the Designs
Once our goals were clear, we looked to Rook, our design firm to bring them to life. They brought us a variety of design concepts that we sifted through and debated on until we landed on one we just knew was the winner. Nourish is a name you can trust but it’s also playful and fun. This design embodied all of that at once while looking crisp and clean, which was a tall order.
The biggest debate in the design stage was whether or not we would keep the window showcasing the product inside. The team loved the idea of literal transparency, but at the end of the day we felt the food photography gave an honest depiction of the product’s flavor in a way that was easier for customers to identify.
Next up? We hosted a two-day photo shoot (20 hours total!) to capture the colorful flavor notes in our snacks. From the orange jalapeno in Holy Habanero to the sea salt dusted half-popped corn kernels in Mr. Popular, we had to portray all of the delicious details in one shot. This was no easy task. And don’t get us started on some of the snack personalities on set (yes, Miss Popular, we’re talking about you!)

Once colors, photography, and final names were nailed down it was time to go to press. Our in-house design team worked with Rook to perfect every detail from how the bag opens to the size and material we used. The day that we received our first proofs (a draft of the bag), the whole office was jumping for joy!
Where to find our new packaging
Look out for our fresh, new look in stores near you like Target, Wegmans, 365 by Whole Foods Markets, Sprouts, Safeway, ShopRite, and Duane Reade. Plus they will be at your doorstep in the next few months as we start shipping web orders with our new style. We’re now the total package… good lookin’ and great tasting!
